Presentation

The lands of Beira Alta will host another major foot orienteering event. Organized by the Viseu Orienteering Club, Sátão Municipality, Portuguese Orienteering Federation, and International Orienteering Federation, from February 20th to 22nd, 2026, Sátão will welcome the Beira Alta O’Meeting 2025 (BEIRAOM).

A weekend of orienteering featuring 3 stages (one warm-up race and two forest stages), the last two of which count toward the Orienteering Portuguese Cup and are World Ranking Event Candidates.

The BEIRAOM overall winners will be determined by the sum of points from the 2 forest races.

This marks the fourth time the “Capital of the Wild Mushroom” hosts a world-level orienteering event (WRE), following Portugal O’Meeting 2012, the Mediterranean Orienteering Championships in 2014, and the Dão Lafões Orienteering Meeting in 2018. Once again, excellent terrain is guaranteed for practicing the sport, accompanied by a competent and responsible organization.

Alongside the competition, open courses will be available for anyone who wants to try orienteering, gain more experience, or simply enjoy a different kind of walk—alone, with friends, or family.
