From 20th to 22nd February 2026, the stunning landscapes of Sátão will once again welcome athletes for three unforgettable days of adventure, strategy, and nature.

The programme includes a warm-up race and two forest stages, both WRE (World Ranking Event) candidates.

The wildfires that sadly affected the region have not left the organisation of the Beira Alta O’Meeting – Sátão 2026 (BEIRAOM) indifferent. Still, here’s the good news: the Sr. Caminhos map remains intact (at least for now), which means the event preparation continues at full pace.

There might be some adjustments to the Model Event, but the excellent training conditions in the surroundings remain and will be available to all athletes.

From 20 to 22 February 2026, the stunning landscapes of Beira Alta will host another major foot orienteering event. The Beira Alta O’Meeting – Sátão WRE 2026 (BEIRAOM) arrives in the municipality of Sátão for three exciting days of adventure, strategy, and nature. The event is organised by the Clube de Orientação de Viseu, in partnership with the Municipality of Sátão, the Portuguese Orienteering Federation, and the International Orienteering Federation.

🗓 The Programme

Throughout the weekend, participants will have the opportunity to compete in three stages:
– Friday: Warm-up race
– Saturday and Sunday: Two forest stages, both counting towards the Portuguese Orienteering Cup and WRE (World Ranking Event) candidates

The BEIRAOM winners will be determined by the total points from the two forest stages.

🌍 Sátão, a land of orienteering

Known as the Capital of the Mushroom (Míscaro), this will be the fourth time Sátão hosts a world-level orienteering event, following Portugal O’Meeting 2012, the Mediterranean Orienteering Championships 2014, and the Dão Lafões Orienteering Meeting 2018. Excellent terrain for orienteering is once again guaranteed, along with an experienced and reliable organisation.

🌱 Open to everyone

In addition to the official competition, there will be open courses available for those who want to try the sport, gain experience, or simply enjoy a different kind of walk — solo, with friends, in pairs, or with family.
