From 20 to 22 February 2026<\/strong>, the stunning landscapes of Beira Alta<\/strong> will host another major foot orienteering event. The Beira Alta O\u2019Meeting \u2013 S\u00e1t\u00e3o WRE 2026 (BEIRAOM)<\/strong> arrives in the municipality of S\u00e1t\u00e3o<\/strong> for three exciting days of adventure, strategy, and nature. The event is organised by the Clube de Orienta\u00e7\u00e3o de Viseu<\/strong>, in partnership with the Municipality of S\u00e1t\u00e3o<\/strong>, the Portuguese Orienteering Federation<\/strong>, and the International Orienteering Federation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\uddd3 The Programme<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the weekend, participants will have the opportunity to compete in three stages<\/strong>:
– Friday<\/strong>: Warm-up race
– Saturday and Sunday<\/strong>: Two forest stages, both counting towards the Portuguese Orienteering Cup<\/strong> and WRE (World Ranking Event) candidates<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BEIRAOM winners<\/strong> will be determined by the total points from the two forest stages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udf0d S\u00e1t\u00e3o, a land of orienteering<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Known as the Capital of the Mushroom (M\u00edscaro)<\/strong>, this will be the fourth time<\/strong> S\u00e1t\u00e3o hosts a world-level orienteering event, following Portugal O\u2019Meeting 2012<\/strong>, the Mediterranean Orienteering Championships 2014<\/strong>, and the D\u00e3o Laf\u00f5es Orienteering Meeting 2018<\/strong>. Excellent terrain for orienteering is once again guaranteed, along with an experienced and reliable organisation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udf31 Open to everyone<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the official competition, there will be open courses<\/strong> available for those who want to try the sport, gain experience, or simply enjoy a different kind of walk \u2014 solo, with friends, in pairs, or with family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
